UNIVERSWATER Partners Gather in Cork to Advance Water Management Solutions

On the 24th and 25th of July 2024, partners of the UNIVERSWATER project came together in Cork, Ireland, for a face-to-face meeting to discuss the innovative technologies at the heart of this EU-funded project.
The gathering focused on exploring the project’s three key case studies in Ireland, Greece, and Italy, each addressing unique challenges in agricultural water management.
During their visit, the partners had the opportunity to tour the Teagasc Moorepark research center, a hub of innovation in sustainable agriculture. They explored the center’s hybrid constructed wetlands, which are pivotal for water remediation efforts, and visited the milking parlour, an essential element in optimising dairy water reuse. The team also examined the cleanroom facilities where advanced electrochemical sensors are fabricated, vital for monitoring water quality.
The meeting strengthened collaboration among the partners and set the stage for the next phase of project activities, as UNIVERSWATER continues its mission to enhance water quality and quantity through smart, sustainable technologies.
