Water Europe Launches Search for the 2026 European Water-Smart Award Winners

Water Europe has officially opened the call for the 2026 European Water-Smart Awards, coinciding with the announcement of the flagship event, Water Innovation Europe (WIE) 2026.

Taking place in Dublin, Ireland, on 13-14 October 2026, this high-level summit moves to the “Silicon Docks” following a successful edition in Copenhagen that gathered over 300 global leaders. The theme, “Raising the bar for the Water Framework Directive,” addresses the collective action and innovations needed to meet the critical 2027 regulatory milestones. WIE2026 will serve as a summit for policymakers, investors, and researchers to advance blue finance and mobilize private investment for a Water-Smart and resilient Europe.

The prestigious awards recognize the pioneers—including cities, industries, and innovators—who are turning the Water Europe Vision into reality. Winners will be honored during the WIE2026 Gala Dinner on 13 October in front of EU Commissioners and industry titans.

The 2026 categories cover Water-Smart Industry, City and Region, Agriculture, River Basin, Investment & Finance, and WOLL of the Year. Beyond the trophy, winners gain unparalleled pan-European visibility, featured success stories in the official WIE Report, and speaking slots at future events.
